Thoughtful Thinkers

The live small group training program

next cohort spring 2025

For homeschooling moms of middle and high schoolers ready to raise thoughtful teens that will change the world.

With homeschool teaching strategist, Natalie Burns

“I download every book you talk about, check out the podcasts, review all the materials you share and take notes on your talks. My big win so far is confidence : )"

    - Kate Showers | Homeschooling Mom

Must ask, life altering question for homeschooling moms…

What’s the difference between the mom who is teaching her homeschooler to be smart, sharp, and (mostly) reasonable…

And the mom who’s pulling teeth to hear unique ideas from her teen?

    Likely guesses include…

❌ Swapping to yet another curriculum where your teen is just checking the boxes to get it over with.

❌ Waking up at 3am wondering how your child will survive after graduation if they can’t think past repeating what they were told.

❌ Scratching your head, not knowing where to start since you never learned thinking skills yourself

(Not to mention, dealing with a lack of communication that leaves you wondering if your teen even has an opinion!)

Thankfully, you can avoid all this!

    With the Thoughtful Thinkers Method,

you’ll raise a considerate, discerning, and independent thinker,

taking your teen’s initiative from “meh” to “guess what I learned!” in just 6 weeks.

I’ve always had a knack for this.

Let me tell you a story of how critical thinking has always been encoded right into my DNA…

*hop into Doc Brown’s DeLorean and time travel back to 2005*

I had that razzle-dazzled curiosity, that thirst for learning that couldn’t be quenched, and I sought to find answers to what others deemed “impossible”.

Only, in the public high school classroom, asking questions and seeking multiple perspectives was not. well. received. I stood out too much and was actively stifled and suppressed for thinking outside of the box.

The programming kicked in and I went on to University, writing papers that were rearrangements of other people’s research and ideas

But a tiny spark remained and I decided to pursue teaching secondary science & biology because I was determined to redeem my own high school experience and ensure the next generation of teenagers would be allowed to think. And I celebrated every lightbulb moment they had!

Fast forward to my own children entering school age, quitting my teaching position, starting as a home learning support teacher with a homeschool academy, and finally creating Homeschool Teaching Simplified,

The bridge that finally solves a serious gap of support for homeschooling moms.

Now I get to support so many teens to take their thinking off of “auto-pilot” by creating a launch pad for homeschooling moms.

YOU have special insight into what your teen needs to unlock Pandora’s box of unique ideas and rocket launch them into unlimited possibilities!

All you need now are the tools & frameworks to get the ball rolling in the right direction.

    Hi, I’m Natalie!

With over 14 years of certified teaching experience, and as a homeschooling mom myself, I have supported 1,000s of homeschooling moms help their children develop initiative by teaching them critical thinking skills.

I love to talk about why thinking is the MOST important thing you can teach in your homeschool, and how you can draw out higher levels of thinking in your child without sacrificing time away from core subject areas.

5 Reasons Why You Want To Raise A Thoughtful Thinker

      • The higher level of thinking we will be talking about is geared toward families with tweens and teens around age 9 and up.

Children younger than this have not undergone the brain maturity to determine validity of reasoning.

      • Critical thinking is NOT the same as criticalness.

Critical thinking is having an openness to explore ideas and perspectives to determine if what is being communicated is helpful in various situations.

Criticalness is about making judgements based off a certain perspective, which often comes across as harsh or mean. Not everyone holds the same perspectives and being critical does not demonstrate loving communication.

Critical thinking is an example of one of the highest forms of thought that your child can start developing once they reach the brain maturity of around 9 years old.

By fostering the growth and development of these thinking skills, you are preparing your child to know and express their unique ideas with the world in a way that respects the differences of others.

      • With recent changes in curriculum, there are so many reasons for why people are choosing to homeschool.

Because of this, I have chosen to keep the main content focus to be practical learning strategies that anyone can see benefit from, regardless of their spiritual approach.

When it comes to long term sustainable approaches to how you view teaching & learning, this includes the holistic aspects of physical, emotional, and spiritual wholeness. I come from a background based on biblical truth so you will hear me speak from this perspective of understanding and experience. That being said, I am happy to meet you wherever you are at on your personal spiritual journey and will provide teaching support for you with how you want to homeschool your child.

      MAKE NO MISTAKE

The most profound way you can leave an impact on your teen is by helping them learn how to think for themselves…

Because you’re a great mom. You wouldn’t be reading this if you weren’t. Being stuck in the stop-and-go guessing game of what critical thinking even is keeps you from creating that impact.

And the continuous bombardment of harmful media messages coming at your teen is only getting worse

That’s why we’re going to make it simple here.

Instead of memorizing all sorts of new types of logical fallacies, I’m going to show you how to build the character traits and thinking skills needed to tackle any problem that comes at your teen.

It may not sound thrilling, but this is the most reliable way to see your child build self-awareness, responsibility and finally take initiative in their learning… and in their life

This leaves you with 3 choices, you can…

      1. Continue to scrap together bits and pieces of curricula, hoping your teen will like it enough to engage more deeply (and actually think about it!).

      2. Invest a ton of time and money flying your child across the country for their debate team, simply noticing and naming the logical fallacies they hear.

      3. Follow the simple, proven path already forged for you that utilizes a quick turnaround time to mature your teen’s foundational thinking skills.

If you want to see your teen taking initiative in just 6 weeks and deepen your relational connection so that they’re asking for your input and advice again, and #3 is calling out to you…

… then I want to thank you for allowing me to give you the Thoughtful Thinkers methodology to rocket launch your teen with absolute ease. I can hardly wait to help you make it happen.

Ready to develop an “I can solve any problem myself” homeschooler?

Then get the support to lead your teen to develop the underlying skills and character traits that make up a critical thinker.

“My 9 year old was naturally starting to manipulate me… that’s when I realized she needed to mature her critical thinking skills. If I can learn how to mature these skills in her, anyone can learn how to do it!”
