Hi! I’m Natalie
Natalie Burns
B.Ed, B.Sc, Certified Teacher
Homeschool Support Teacher
With over 14 years of certified teaching experience, and as a homeschooling mom myself, I have supported 1,000s of homeschooling moms help their children develop initiative by teaching them critical thinking skills.
I love to talk about why thinking is the MOST important thing you can teach in your homeschool, and how you can draw out higher levels of thinking in your child without sacrificing time away from core subject areas.
You’ll see me infuse intuitive approaches so you can connect more deeply with your child through a done-for-you experience, embracing the freedom to reflect who you are as a family without the restraint of constantly meeting someone’s expectations (even if they’re your own!).
After overcoming the limitations that were placed on me growing up in a classroom, I am now showing moms how to help their children turn those “robot-like responses” into razzle-dazzled curiosity!
I will guide you through re-igniting a love of learning in your child by making your homeschool relevant, meaningful, and engaging for their growing mind.
As you help your child understand how they personally think and learn, you will see your relationship grow even deeper than you imagined.
You’ll also want to know these 5 random (but necessary) facts about me:
1️⃣ I won a dance contest during the 2010 Olympics judged by Tom Selleck. 🍿
2️⃣ I taught dance to pay my way through my Bachelor of Science (cell and molecular biology) and Bachelor of Education (curriculum development and design). 💃
3️⃣ I've been a certified teacher for over 14 years! I used to teach public high school biology, health science, and dance before I moved to homeschooling. 👩🏻🏫
4️⃣ My favourite night out activity is going to an escape room. 🔐
5️⃣ My husband, Zach and I have been married for 16 years and we homeschool our 3 children: Brooke, Caleb, and Emmett. We live in beautiful BC, Canada on a 2 acre homestead. ⛰️
What it’s like to work with me:
“You helped me change my perspective in how I see my kids in their journey and their walk with education, and I thank you so much for that because it released so much of the control that I felt I needed to have over their learning and it allowed me to give it to them. That was just a beautiful moment for me so I really appreciate that.”

"Natalie's given me ways to help me see my children's learning styles differently and it's opened up a whole new world of standards that match and align with our home values and goals for them. This is the village I seek, those who come together with ideas, support, and space for you to also grow alongside your children. Those who are accepting of who you are and embrace who your children are too."
- Shannon B.
“I download every book you talk about, check out the podcasts, review all the materials you share and take notes on your talks. My big win so far is confidence : )"
- Kate S.
"Natalie always has incredible feedback and knowledge along with a gift of creativity to see things from so many perspectives! I truly enjoy working with her!"
- Monica B.
“No one ever showed me how to do this. I didn’t know how much I would benefit from someone showing me how to use those opportunities to teach them.”
- Nancy M.
"I find your feedback always spot on, to the point, and super helpful. And always with a kind and smiling face!"
- Evie R.
"It was so liberating to know that I could teach how I wanted without having to overthink things!"
- Dawn B.
“Natalie brings the perfect blend of planning and fluidity to homeschooling. She gracefully injects a sense of adventure and fun into teaching while also not being afraid to tackle bigger subjects in manageable ways. Through interacting with her I've learned that with good bones in place, any lesson can be tailored for learning style, teaching technique and adapted to fit, even on the day. What a joy it's been to know and work with Natalie!”
- Sarah D.
"I have Natalie to thank for this bright light. Her view of how to teach our kids is exactly what we needed to feel confident - to put everything into action and have a community to talk with when I don't know how to handle a situation was exactly what I was looking for."
- Britany L.
“Natalie has been so encouraging with my homeschool journey. I was brand new to homeschooling and overwhelmed by all the different styles and methods and labels. Natalie listened to my scattered thoughts and helped me organize them without judgement. I didn’t need to fit into a preset box. Her experience as a teacher and her passion for home learning shine through in our conversations. I’m so grateful for her guidance and advice.”
- Kasia R.
“Natalie has been instrumental in helping me learn to be more confident in homeschooling. One particular thing I really appreciate is that rather than telling me what to do, she asks me questions that cause me to think about the reasoning behind what I’m doing and what is important for my children to learn. Natalie has such joy and wonder when conversing about learning. She makes me feel excited about a peaceful and joyful learning experience with my kids and has shown me how it can be possible!”
